Do you know the Virgin River series? I love it! Last year I read all the books and now I'm just anxious for the next one. Tomorrow I'll be reading the last one, Sunrise Point. I love to visit that little village and reconnect with everyone, Jack, Mel, Preacher, ... They are so many...

Yup, I'm a fan too. Then I got my sister hooked which for some reason surprised me. We have hugely similar tastes in books but I thought coz they're a bit "tamer" than a lot of the stuff we read, she wouldn't be really interested. Boy was I wrong. She gloats like mad if she beats me to the new releases now.

I love Preacher. OMG, lickey tastey there. There's just something hot about a big tough thuggy looking guy whose a big squishy teddy bear that just does it for me.

Plus one of the funniest passages I've ever read came from a Virgin River book. Was either Jack's or his sister's book, but the scene at Christmas where all the guys are out the back talking about women and pregnant women in particular. Still can't be drinking anything when reading that, or it's expelled rather rapidly through my nose.LOL.

LOL

I don't remember that.

But I remember when Jack was telling... Paul, I think, that when the kids start to watch cartoons on TV they have time to make love to their wives. The problem is Jack has a erection (he said another word that I can't remember right now) when he hears cartoons music!

Last weekend I read the newest release, Sunrise Point. I wanted a book for Nora since the beginning, she had such a tragic past. I was disappointed with Tom, he didn't know what he wanted, he was prejudiced... Not my favorite guy at Virgin River.

Been so busy I'm just now starting that book Sonia! I'm totally rooting for Nora. I'll let ya know what I think when I finish it! But I think Jack and Preacher will always remain my favorite characters no matter what!

They are my favorite, too. A Virgin River book without those 2 guys, is not the same...

Yes, comment about the book. Did you read about Nora's father?

The funny pages I was talking about... Book 2 Shelter Mountain. Mel and Jack at Jack's family for Christmas and the men are all offering each other advice on dealing with pregnant women. Starts out with this....

“What’s the problem?” Ryan asked.
“I said exactly those two words to her—huge and waddle—and she was very pissed about it.”
The men laughed. Bob clamped a hand on his shoulder. “Come, my brother. Let’s get you unloaded, get you a beer and teach you the facts of life. Out back, where men can be men and the women won’t hear us."

Wow I haven't thought about this series in a long time.
My favorite book was Forbidden Falls! The story just worked out perfectly for me!

Has anyone tried her other series?

There are 18 books, not counting novellas in anthologies.
I've read them all, as always some are better for you than others, but in general they are always sweet stories...

Sweet sounds good...I have to check them out.

Do I have to read them in order? Or can I choose my own order? Are the books standalone?

In a way yes, you can read them out of order. But it's a small town community. In some books you have glimpses of future protagonists or even couples. But it's mostly interesting to read in order because you have many scenes with previous couples and it's good to see where they are even if the main focus isn't on them.

Ah, okay. I'm not good following a reading order, I'll see how it goes with this series.

Lol just read the first and you'll get an idea of the vibe.
If you plan on skipping I can give you my opinion of which I preferred and which I didn't enjoy much but that's subjective so... it will be your decision :)

Recommendations are always welcome.
I'll probably start this series next year. I still have too much I want to read this year.

I understand!
I write down monthly lists in a notebook, so I can have some sort of grasp on which books I have to read...but as it happens with any other voracious reader, I always get more, so....
